Welcome back to what is going to be another action packed term at St Francis.
Plans already in place for children include a lively skipping day, Bike Right training for Year 5, African drumming for Year 1 and 3 and cricket coaching from Lancashire CC for Year 2 and 6.
Towards the end of the term we have arranged a fantastic day with 4 other schools in our Partnership. The Young Shakespeare Company, who are annual visitors to our school, are delivering a whole day of exciting workshops followed by a performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
We will be holding several events for parents this term.
– Reception parents will be offered our usual session, run by Miss Stott, about reading at which they are given a reading folder containing resources to help them to support their child at home. In addition Miss Stott will be running a session outlining our school approach to Systematic Synthetic Phonics – Batty Basics!
-We have also arranged an E Safety session for parents, which will help them to have a clearer view about this important issue. This will be supported through workshops in every KS2 class and ongoing work throughout the year.
-Mr Knapper will be delivering a session to help parents to understand the calculation methods that we teach in school.
Keep an eye out for the letters.
It’s going to be a great term!
