We hope that you all had a happy and peaceful holiday. We are looking forward to yet another action packed term at St Francis.
We are welcoming back the Young Shakespeare Company for their annual visit.
We have two amazing trainers visiting school in January and February to work with both children and staff. Jenny Moseley will be delivering some training on behaviour management and we have invited staff from Old Hall Drive Primary School to join us. Jenny is an internationally acclaimed consultant and we are very excited that she is coming to work with us. http://www.circle-time.co.uk/
Another exciting visitor in February is Andy Cope. He is a famous author and will be training our children in the art of being brilliant! Read his Spy Dog books and have a look at his website for more information about him. http://www.artofbrilliance.co.uk/training/schools/
We are also going to be launching our writing blogs though Lend Me Your Literacy. This is a secure website where we can upload writing and people from all over the world will comment on it to help us the improve. http://lendmeyourliteracy.com/
PE and Sport will continue to have a high profile with an Elite Athletics team having coaching every Monday afternoon with the Team GB coaches and lunchtime BMX trial sessions every week. We have also entered several teams in the Manchester Gymnastics tournament for the first time. They have been practicing very hard and we wish them all lots of luck.
For parents we are running a six week course aimed at helping parents and carers who want to volunteer in schools. Please let Mrs McGowan know if you are interested and can commit to 6 half days this term
