What a fantastic, flavoursome feast we we had, as children from years 1 to 6 worked as a team to make a beautiful ‘Speedy Biryani,’ which we sold at the end of the day to raise money for a local homeless charity. The children did a brilliant job
- Year 1 chopped the green beans, using scissors to snip them safely.
- Year 2 sliced our succulent tomatoes into quarters (good numeracy work on fractions
- Year 3 managed to avoid any tears dicing the red onions.
- Years 4,5 and 6 worked hard to peel and chop boiled eggs, cube chicken breast and cook the whole dish up.
We all had a taste and then packaged the meals up in food containers with food labels and recipe cards for other staff, students and parents to try. The feedback has been excellent and cooking club places continue to be in big demand at St Francis.
A great big thank you goes to Chef Connolly for his usual excellent preparation.
