This week we have focused on allowing the children to express themselves and their feelings in a variety of ways.
With the Year 6 children, we studied 'The Scream' by Edvard Munch and discussed how the artist may have been feeling when he painted this piece and how he expressed his inner turmoils using a paint brush. We then linked this to discussions of how we have felt throughout the period of lockdown and also any feelings children had towards returning to school after an extended break.
The children used printing tools and printing inks to create their own version of 'The Scream', to reflect their emotions throughout lockdown. They then annotated their work in their sketchbooks.
