Year 3 TA
In Year 3 we love to have fun, work hard and learn a lot of exciting new things.Take a look at our blog and find out all the fun things we get up to!
Over the year we look at a number of different topics: Predators (we look at all different animals), Tribal Tales (we travel far into the past), Myths and Legends (we become historians of Ancient Greece), Scrumdiddlyumptious (we try a lot of new foods, learn how they grow and where they come from) and Tremors (we become experts of volcanoes and other natural disasters). Science, History and Geography are all covered through our topics. Not only that, but our English always links in too. In Year 3 we love Maths and use lots of different approaches to become masters of Maths.
We not only work hard in the classroom but outside too. Our PE lessons are with Mrs Jagger Smith and Mr Williams on Tuesdays and Wednesdays - don't forget your PE kit!
In order for Year 3 to be the best year it can, there are some things to do at home that really help.
First of all, reading. Reading for 10 mins a day can have a huge impact especially when combined with asking questions about the book. We change our books as and when we have finished them (and after we have written a book review of course!).
Time tables are very important so please practise those. Times Tables Rockstars is great for practising at home. Everyone has a log in We focus on our 3,4 and 8 x tables looking at both the multiplication and division.
Lastly, spellings. We all know spellings can be tricky so make sure you practise. Our spellings are given out every Tuesday ready for a test on Friday.
