A crack team of programmers attended our first ever Greater Manchester Robotics and Engineering Challenge and Manchester University. Mr Connolly had worked with Year 6 to build and programme a VEX IQ robot. He selected a group to attend the competition and they had a fantastic day. Our children really impressed the judges with how quickly they had built their robot and picked up sophisticated programming skills. The judges were all lecturers from the School of Engineering at the university and there were awards for Teamwork, Robot Skills and STEM Research challenges. Our team came second overall, which was amazing as the other teams had attended the competition for several years. We were also the winners of the judges award due to excellent team work. A huge well done! we have already signed up to take part next year.

Here we are in action.
