We walk together as a welfare community and raised money for the people in Nepal suffering because of the earthquake there. Many, many, many faces were painted! Watch our video Nepal painted faces.
Our Year 3 class wrote to invite Bishop John to visit them and they certainly had lots of very interesting questions to ask him, such as was he good at RE when he was at school! They were delighted to receive a reply a few weeks later.

The Chaplaincy group worked with Father Andrew to plan and deliver Collective Worship in our Foundation Stage Unit during Multi Faith week.

What kind families and children we have at our school. We always do lots of charity fund raising which is really well supported. Our chosen charity is Water Aid and this year we have been filling 2 litre bottles with spare change. We had a request from a parent that we did some additional fund raising for Children in Need and we had a silly glasses and wigs day which raised about £250. In addition to this our Chaplaincy group wanted to do something to raise money towards fighting the terrible disease of Ebola. They sold toast every day for a week and raised another £250.
We have 18 of our Year 3 children who are starting their Holy Communion journey this term.
We celebrated Harvest with a week of focused activities. The week started with an assembly led by John from Cafod who explained their work to everyone. He then spent time with year 6 to help them to learn about Fair Trade. Our Foundation Stage children presented a fun filled show for their parents and we were so pleased to see a packed house. The whole school gathered in the Hall at the end of the week for a thought provoking assembly led by Year 5 and the Foundation Stage sang us some great songs. The Big Red Combine Harvester went down a storm! We had a crazy hair and glasses day on Friday led by our Chaplaincy Team, to raise money for Cafod and Cornerstones, a local charity which helps homeless people. We raised almost £200.
We celebrated St Francis Day with a lovely whole school Mass led by Year 3. The parishioners, who also attended, commented on the lovely clear speakers and beautiful singing.
Our Chaplaincy Group has made a great start to the term. They have had regular meetings with Mrs Nadin and have a very clear focus on how they can support the development of our faith community. Their suggestions have been very thoughtful and creative.
They have also had meetings with members of our Parish to discuss the Christmas Fair.
We celebrated together with Father Andrew in the first whole school Mass of the year. Father Andrew spoke to us about new beginnings.
