Here at St Francis our chaplains play an important role in supporting the catholic life of the school. We have a very enthusiastic and caring group of chaplains who give joyful witness to Christ in our school. Their roles include:
Leading class collective worships.
Leading assemblies for feast days and important times of year for the Catholic faith.
Making links with the parish.
Help support Year 3 on their sacramental journey.
Supporting the school with raising money for charities such as St Joseph’s Penny, Cornerstones and Christies.
Leading liturgies and promoting an awareness of important events within the liturgical calendar.
Promoting the Catholic values in school.
Announcing the Disciples of the week in the Friday Fellowship assembly.
Leading school prayers during Star assemblies.
Our chaplains apply for the role in school and have an interview. Here are some of their reasons for becoming chaplains.
"Being a chaplain makes me feel mature and responsible"
"I help to raise money for charities which makes me feel incredible inside. It helps to make people feel loved"
"As a chaplain you spread God's word which can change communities for the better"
